Keeneland yearling sale fails to top ’06 records
Final figures at Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale were 3.7 percent below last year’s record of nearly $400 million, and the average price per horse fell almost 10 percent as the 15-day event closed on Tuesday. Gross sales were $385,018,600, making the 2007 sale the second-highest grossing of Keeneland’s September sales.

Magna Entertainments acquires all of Pimlico, Laurel tracks
Magna Entertainment Corporation acquired full ownership of Pimlico Race Course and Laurel Park on Monday after exercising its option to purchase the remaining interest in The Maryland Jockey Club. Magna Entertainment will pay about $18.3 million plus interest to the De Francis Entities, under the terms of an option agreement put in place in 2002.
