Lynn Swann’s charmed reign at USC ends with his decision to keep Clay Helton

It has largely been 66 years of cheers for University of Southern California athletic director Lynn Swann, a life played out to a soundtrack of standing ovations. From high school in the Bay Area to starring at USC to his Hall of Fame career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, there’s been little public adversity. Swann has hosted game shows, appeared on “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood� and served as a prolific sports broadcaster.
