Packers’ McCarthy mad about hit on Favre

Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre holds his arm on the sideline after injuring it in the second quarter against the Dallas Cowboys in an NFL football game Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, in Irving, Texas. Favre is expected to start zinging passes in practice starting Thursday, Dec. 6, allowing him to run his quarterback-record consecutive starts streak to 250--270, including playoff games--in the Packers' game against Oakland at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy called a hit that Raiders defensive end Derrick Burgess made on Brett Favre low and unnecessary. Favre, making his 250th consecutive start, got hit twice by Burgess, once on a play before the 2-minute warning that left Favre limping in Green Bay’s 38-7 victory over Oakland on Sunday to clinch the NFC North.
