Kings end 5-game skid, beat Sharks 2-1

Los Angeles Kings goalie Jason LaBarbera, right, and San Jose Sharks center Torrey Mitchell (17) watch a puck shot at goal by the San Jose Sharks during the third period of an NHL hockey game in San Jose, Calif., Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007. Los Angeles won 2-1.

Anze Kopitar knew from recent experience that a week off sometimes leads to trouble on the ice. He also knew the Los Angeles Kings needed to take advantage. Kopitar and Dustin Brown each scored first-period goals and the Kings ended a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.
