Hurricanes assign LW Ladd to Albany

The Carolina Hurricanes assigned left wing Andrew Ladd to the AHL affiliate in Albany on Tuesday. Ladd will join Albany for a four-game conditioning assignment. The 21-year-old forward missed 16 games after injuring an ankle in the third game of the season and returned Nov. 16 at Atlanta. “This is an important conditioning period for Andrew,” general manager Jim Rutherford said.
