Featured Groups: CareerBuilder Challenge

After two weeks in Hawaii, the PGA TOUR makes its first 2017 stop on the mainland this week at the CareerBuilder Challenge in La Quinta, California. Jason Dufner is the defending champ, defeating David Lingmerth on the second playoff hole. Three courses are in the rotation – PGA WEST (TPC Stadium); PGA WEST (Nicklaus Private) and La Quinta Country Club. Groupings for the first three rounds will be played in a pro-am format. PGA TOUR LIVE will offer coverage from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. ET on Thursday and Friday. PGA TOUR LIVE will also be broadcast live on Twitter (PGATOURLIVE.twitter.com) from 11 a.m. to noon ET on Thursday and Friday. PGA TOUR Radio has coverage from 1 p.m.-7 p.m. ET for the first three rounds, then starting at 2 p.m. ET for the final round. Golf Channel’s coverage is from 3 p.m.- 7 p.m. ET each round. Here’s a look at the featured groups for the first two rounds of PGA TOUR LIVE coverage (current FedExCup ranking in parentheses): Thursday Keegan Bradley (23), Emiliano Grillo (30). This is the second tournament this season they’ve been paired; the first time came at the CIMB Classic. Grillo, last season’s Rookie of the Year, has been steadily churning out top 20 finishes; he’s on a streak of five straight. Bradley, meanwhile, played well in the fall portion of the season but missed the cut last week at Waialae. Tee times: 11:40 a.m. ET (10th-Nicklaus); 1:20 p.m. ET (1st-Stadium); 12:50 p.m. ET (10th-La Quinta) Andres Gonzales (130), Bryson DeChambeau (147). DeChambeau had to fight off an illness at the Sony Open that zapped him of energy; he eventually finished T-49. Gonzales has made the cut in four of his first six starts this season, finishing T-36 last week. Tee times: 11:50 a.m. ET (10th-Nicklaus); 1:30 p.m. ET (1st-Stadium); 1 p.m. ET (10th-La Quinta) Friday Camilo Villegas (29), Ryo Ishikawa (96). In his last eight starts worldwide going back to last August, Ishikawa has six top 10s, including a win on the Japan Tour. Villegas jumped 138 spots (to 286th) in the Official World Golf Ranking when he tied for second at The RSM Classic last fall. He’s dropped back slightly since then after his missed cut at Sony. Tee times: Noon ET (1st-La Quinta); 11:30 a.m. ET (10th-Nicklaus); 1:10 p.m. ET (1st-Stadium) Paul Casey (27), Jason Dufner (129). Since winning the CareerBuilder last year, Dufner has three top-10s in 24 starts and comes off a missed cut at Sony. Casey also comes off a missed cut at Sony – his first missed cut in his last 10 starts that includes five top-10s. Tee times: 12:10 p.m. ET (1st-La Quinta); 11:40 a.m. ET (10th-Nicklaus); 1:20 p.m. ET (1st-Stadium)
