Boyd’s goal lifts Flames over Blues 3-1

St Louis Blues' Dan Hinote, center, gets tripped up by Calgary Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff, left, from Finland, and a shove from Flames defenseman Dion Phaneuf during third period NHL hockey action in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007.

Dustin Boyd’s first goal of the season required a lucky bounce — off the goalie’s backside. Boyd banked his shot off Hannu Toivonen, whose 34 saves weren’t enough to prevent Calgary from beating the St. Louis Blues 3-1 Tuesday night. “I just tried to bank it off of him and I was fortunate that it went in,” Boyd said.
