Tigers’ Rogers can earn $2M in bonuses

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Kenny Rogers delivers a pitch against the Chicago White Sox during the first inning of a baseball game in Chicago, in this Sept. 28, 2007 file photo. The 43-year-old left-hander ended his free agency Friday Nov. 30, 2007 and will return to the Detroit Tigers for a third season.

Kenny Rogers can earn an additional $2 million in performance bonuses under his new contract with the Detroit Tigers and would receive the entire amount if he pitches 200 innings. Rogers agreed last week to return to the Tigers for an $8 million base salary, the same as in his previous contract, which covered 2006 and 2007.
