Santa Anita will operate Thursday through Monday during its winter-spring racing meeting that begins Dec. 26 to encourage higher on-track attendance. Santa Anita has traditionally run Wednesdays through Sundays. To promote Monday racing, the track will offer free general admission. “We feel that we need to try this,” track president Ron Charles said Monday.
