Report: Warren Buffett advised A-Rod

New York Yankees' Alex Rodriguez dons his batting helmet to take batting practice before Game 3 of the Yankees' American League baseball division playoff series against the Cleveland Indians at Yankee Stadium in New York, in this Oct. 7, 2007 file photo. Rodriguez and the Yankees have agreed to the outline of a US$275 million, 10-year contract, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The deal could potentially allow Rodriguez to earn millions more if he sets the career home-run record.

Warren Buffett advised Alex Rodriguez to approach the New York Yankees and go around agent Scott Boras, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday. The newspaper cited a person familiar with the matter, whom it did not identify. “A-Rod really loves being a Yankee,” Buffett was quoted as saying. He wouldn’t comment on the substance of any discussions with the player.
