Bill Guerin scored his first New York Islanders goal. And his second. And his third. The first one was the hardest for the free agent who became the instant Islanders captain. Put his entire effort together, and it added up to his ninth NHL hat trick in Thursday night’s 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals.
