Holy Cross names ND’s Kearney new coach

Sean Kearney is the new basketball coach at Holy Cross. The former Notre Dame assistant was named Thursday to succeed Ralph Willard, who resigned last month after 10 seasons to become Rick Pitino’s associate head coach at Louisville. After a frantic day that had Kansas fans fretting they might lose a prized recruit, Xavier Henry texted a local radio station late Tuesday night saying he decided to stay with the Jayhawks. Ohio St. AD to lead basketball committee

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith has been appointed chairman of the Division I Men’s Basketball Committee for 2010-11, the NCAA announced Tuesday.
