Surprisingly entrenched in last place, the Chicago White Sox still get plenty of enjoyment out of beating the Cleveland Indians. The Florida Marlins tied a team record with five home runs Sunday and needed them all. Kevin Gregg escaped a bases-loaded jam when Jimmy Rollins flied out on a 3-2 pitch to end the game, and Florida beat Philadelphia 7-6. The Phillies blew a 5-0 lead to lose their second game in a row after

M’s suffer season-high 9th straight loss

Manager John McLaren is amazed that a nine-game losing streak hasn’t killed Seattle’s playoff hopes. Matt Stairs and Gregg Zaun each hit two-run homers, A.J.
