A six-time player on the team and twice a winner, Nicholas was assistant captain to Catrin Nilsmark when Europe last won the title in 2003. But she has a tough task when the two teams meet at Rich Harvest Farms, Sugar Grove, Illinois with the Americans defending the title they held on to at Halmstad, Sweden, in September.
