Isles latest to deny Brodeur 500th win

New Jersey Devils' goalie Martin Brodeur (30) braces himself as teammate Johnny Oduya (29) checks New York Islanders' Mike Comrie (89) into Brodeur during the first period in an NHL hockey game at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Friday, Nov.16, 2007. The Islanders defeated the Devils 1-0 as Brodeur failed in an attempt for his 500th win.

Not even the second-winningest goaltender in NHL history seems to be able to pull the New Jersey Devils out of their early season funk. Martin Brodeur did everything he could Friday night, but it wasn’t enough as New Jersey fell 1-0 to the New York Islanders and Brodeur was denied his 500th career victory for the third time.
