Brind’Amour, ‘Canes cool off Thrashers

Marian Hossa’s short-handed goal gave Atlanta a lead early in the second period, it also provided the spark the Carolina Hurricanes needed to take over the power play and the game. They didn’t wait long. Carolina’s Justin Williams scored about 30 seconds after the short-handed tally and Rod Brind’Amour netted two goals to lead the Hurricanes past Atlanta 5-3 on Saturday night.
