2016-17 PGA TOUR Medical Extensions

Medical extensions in order of priority rankings. • Bud Cauley is fully exempt for the 2016-17 season by virtue of finishing inside the top 125 on the money list in 2015-16. He achieved that objective with three starts remaining on a medical extension through which he would have qualified for select invitationals (e.g. THE PLAYERS) in 2016-17 via the equivalent top 125 in FedExCup points in 2015-16 if he collected at least 48.770 in his first three starts of 2016-17. However, he fell short by 41.270 and will need to qualify for select invitationals through other criteria. • In his third of 15 starts on a Major Medical Extension, Pat Perez won the OHL Classic at Mayakoba on Nov. 13. As a result, he will play out of no worse than Category No. 10 in the Eligibility Ranking for the remainder of the season. He’s the first to prevail via status on any medical extension for which the terms were not yet met since Harrison Frazar won the 2011 FedEx St. Jude Classic in the 10th of 11 allotted starts on a Major Medical Extension. • Rory Sabbatini failed to meet the terms of his Minor Medical Extension in six starts. He fell 234.501 FedExCup points and $402,283 shy. However, as a Web.com Tour Finals grad, he will play out of no worse than Category No. 26 in the Eligibility Ranking for the remainder of the season. • In his final start on a medical extension in the reshuffle category (that dated back to time missed in 2010), Neal Lancaster missed the cut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He failed to fulfill its terms by $727,814. He also fell short of qualifying for conditional status by $504,566. As a result, he falls back on Past Champion status and opportunities to compete on the PGA TOUR Champions. • In the only start on his medical extension, Jeff Overton missed the cut at The Honda Classic. He fell 165.503 FedExCup points and $307,644 shy. He also fell short of securing conditional status by 29.978 FedExCup points. As a result, he falls back on Veteran Member status. ^ – Qualified for conditional status if he fails to meet the terms on his medical. % – If a golfer eligible on merit for a PGA TOUR event elects to play the PGA TOUR Champions the same week, he will be charged one start against his medical. * – In the field at the Valspar Championship as of March 5.
