Jets to release RB Jones this week

Thomas Jones helped the New York Jets reach the AFC championship game while running his way to a career year. Now, the leader of the NFL’s top-ranked rushing offense is out of a job. The Jets announced Monday that they will release the star running back when the league’s free agency period begins Friday, making him a free agent.
