Switzerland beats Sweden 4-2 at worlds

Switzerland used a strong defensive effort to beat high-scoring Sweden 4-2 on Wednesday at the IIHF World Hockey Championship. Thierry Paterlini, Andreas Ambuhl, Thibault Monnet and Thomas Ziegler scored for the Swiss in the game at Quebec City. Jonas Hiller, playing in place of Ottawa Senators goalie Martin Gerber, stopped 28 shots as Switzerland improved to 3-0 in the preliminary round.
