Dodgers put RHP Penny on 15-day DL

The Los Angeles Dodgers put right-hander Brad Penny on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a sore shoulder that has bothered him for much of the season. He went back to Los Angeles for a medical test Monday that detected tendinitis. He is 0-7 in his last eight starts, and pitched only 3 2-3 innings in a 12-7 loss to Detroit on Saturday.
