Bishop, Schwarz help Blues beat Panthers

St. Louis Blues' goaltender Marek Schwarz, left, looks around teammate Roman Polak, center, as Florida Panthers' David Booth, right, is upended during the third period of an NHL hockey game on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in St. Louis.

Former Maine star Ben Bishop made 12 saves in his first NHL start before leaving with an undisclosed lower-body injury in the St. Louis Blues’ 4-0 victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. Bishop, a St. Louis native, left with 15:27 to play. He was replaced by Marek Schwarz, recalled earlier in the day from Peoria of the AHL.
