Twins’ Cuddyer hits for cycle in win

Minnesota Twins left fielder Denard Span(notes), left, and right fielder Michael Cuddyer(notes) celebrate the Twins 11-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in a baseball game Friday, May 22, 2009 in Minneapolis. Cuddyer, who hit for the cycle, was 4 for5 with five RBIs and Span had a solo home run.

When Michael Cuddyer hit a broken-bat liner down the third-base line in the sixth inning Friday night, he started pumping his legs. Having hit a three-run homer in the first inning, a double in the third and a single in the fourth in Minnesota’s 11-3 win over Milwaukee, Cuddyer knew he was a triple away from hitting for the cycle.
