Gallardo outpitches Cain as Brewers win

Trying to rebound from a recent losing streak with a patchwork starting rotation, the Milwaukee Brewers turned to Yovani Gallardo. And starting opposite another one of the National League’s best young pitchers, Gallardo didn’t disappoint. Milwaukee’s 23-year-old burgeoning ace outdueled San Francisco’s Matt Cain, lifting the Brewers to a 5-1 victory over the Giants on Friday night.
