Carmona, Barfield help Indians end skid

Oakland Athletics' Dan Johnson (29) congratulates Jack Cust after Cust hit a two-run home run off Cleveland Indians' Fausto Carmona in the first inning of a baseball game Saturday, May 12, 2007, in Oakland, Calif. At right is home plate umpire Mike Muchlinski. Cleveland won 6-3.

Fausto Carmona had mixed results working out of Cleveland’s bullpen last season. This year he’s a mainstay in the starting rotation. Carmona recovered from a shaky first inning to win his fourth straight start, and Josh Barfield hit a pair of run-scoring triples as Cleveland beat the Oakland Athletics 6-3 Saturday and stopped a three-game losing streak.
