Zaftig wins Belmont’s Nassau County Stakes

Zaftig pulled away to a 5-length victory over Caroyln’s Cat in the $208,400 Nassau County Stakes for 3-year-old fillies Saturday at Belmont Park. Jorge Chavez was aboard for trainer Jimmy Jerkens as the filly improved her record to 2-for-4. “She kicked in really well at the end,” Chavez said The time was 1:22.74 for the 7 furlongs on the fast track.
