Banrock wins Belmont’s Kingston Handicap

Casino Drive, who was shipped from Japan to New York for the race, with jockey Kent J. Desormeaux, crosses the finish line to win the 55th running of The Peter Pan horse race at Belmont Park in New York, Saturday, May 10, 2008.

Banrock nipped Dave by a head Sunday to win the $113,700 Kingston Handicap for New York breds at Belmont Park. Dave emerged with the lead turning for home on the yielding turf course but could not hold off Banrock’s relentless rally. The 5-year-old gelding trained by Tom Bush and ridden by Kent Desormeaux earned his fifth win in 18 starts.
