After 75 years, Bay Meadows hosts last regular season races

A piece of horse racing history headed into its final stretch on Sunday, the last day of the regular thoroughbred season at Bay Meadows. The fabled track where Seabiscuit ran to glory seven decades ago and Russell Baze became the sport’s winningest jockey in 2006 is scheduled to close in September, when bulldozers will move in to make way for condominiums, offices and stores.
