Valdes extends lead; US Junior Amateur suspended

Second-round play at the U.S. Junior Amateur was suspended because of threatening weather Tuesday but not before 15-year-old Jorge Fernandez Valdes from Argentina extended his lead to five strokes. Valdes was 1 under through eight holes after opening with a 7-under 65 before play was suspended in mid-afternoon with thunderstorms in the area, and the round was called more than two hours later.
