Jaguars sign S Prioleau, waive QB Ricard

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed free agent safety Pierson Prioleau on Wednesday and waived quarterback Lester Ricard. Prioleau, entering his 10th season, spent the last three years with the Washington Redskins. He played 15 games in 2007, starting four and finishing with 38 tackles. Patriots release CB Mixon, LB Slaughter

The New England Patriots released cornerback Tim Mixon and linebacker T.J. Slaughter on Wednesday. The 30-year-old Slaughter was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on Feb. 12. He spent the 2007 season out of football. Before then, the 6-foot-1, 233-pound linebacker played in 78 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who selected him in the third round of the 2000 NFL draft.
